Favorite Spicy Perfumes

My current favorites for the fall season come from Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs and Arcana. I enjoy cinnamon and these two companies know how to create some kickin' good blends.

Black Phoenix has a scent that will only be available to the public until November 5th. The scent is called Lambs Wool. Here is what they have to say about the scent:
"According to William Shepard Walsh, the Gentleman's Magazine for May of 1784 stated, "this is a constant ingredient at merrymaking on Holy Eve." He also quotes Vallancey's etymological speculation: "The first day of November was dedicated to the angel presiding over fruits, seeds, etc., and was therefore named La Mas Ubhal, -- that is, the day of the apple fruit, -- and being pronounced Lamasool, the English have corrupted the name to Lambs-wool."A popular holy day beverage in 18th century Ireland: roasted apples mashed into warmed milk and ale, with nutmeg, sugar, ginger, and clove."

The top note that is first picked up by my nose is red apples, with some cinnamon. Eventually the scent dries down into a creamy spice. If you have allergies to cinnamon, you might want to skip this one.

Arcana's Sleepy Hollow is a scent that is not to be dismissed! Here's the description:
"Sleepy Hollow Perfume Oil (Limited Edition): An atmospheric ode to romantically spooky Autumn evenings, with fresh pumpkin, spiced apple brew and bonfire smoke. Perfect for the telling of deliciously scary tales."

To be honest, I do not get apples from this one. It starts as an almost hot cinnamon, like you would find in Red Hots candy and settles into a nice bonfire smoke. It reminds me of cold days with a big bonfire and friends.

If you have sensitivities to cinnamon, these are definitely not for you.
